"Even though you may be able to do everything else but meditate, you will never find joy equal that which comes when the thoughts are silent and your mind is tuned to the peace of God."
On meditation and yoga.
The basics of meditation step by step.

"Practice meditation. You will find that you are carrying within your heart a portable paradise."
Paramahansa Yogananda emphasized that the common devotion and concentration from many yoga practitioners can greatly enhance each individual’s own experience. We all go through times of difficulties on our spiritual path; therefore, the common spirit and regularity of group meditations are of greatest importance to keep focus and continuity in our spiritual practice.
Stockholm Meditation Circle offers regular group Meditations and ”Service Readings” as indicated below. Twice a month, we hold a special Meditation for newcomers.
We sit on chairs when we meditate. Bring your own meditation cushion if you prefer sitting on the floor. All readings and chanting are in English.
Since meditation is about maximum stillness and deep concentration, we kindly ask you to be in time, turn off your mobile phone and observe the greatest possible silence during the meditation. If you need to stretch, visit the toilet or leave the meditation before the end - you can do so during a chant.
If you have a cough, cold or other health conditions that affects others – please meditate at home.
Note that we are open half an hour before and after the meditations to answer questions and offer sales of literature etc. Other times the premises are closed.
MEDITATIONS DURING THE WEEK - ONLINE
Every other Wednesday between 19:00 – 20:30.
The evening meditation starts with a thirty minutes guided meditation for newcomers between 19:00-19:30 where short periods (5-10 minutes) of silence mix with simple breathing exercises, readings, affirmations and chants.
At around 19:30 can those who find it difficult to sit in silence for longer periods leave the meditation or stay as long as you like, and those who want to continue just stay at your seats. Between 19:30 -20:30 we hold a one hour silent meditation with interruption for chants. As these meditations are ONLINE you can leave the meditation whenever it suits you without disturbing others.
Every meditation begins and ends with a prayer followed by a short reading and a chant. The chants are also sung between the silent periods. The lyrics to the chants are in a small booklet which you can order by sending an e-mail to
info@ srf-stockholm.org. The lyrics are also shown on your screen during the chants.
Every meditation then ends with a ”World Wide Prayer Service”. For more information about ”World Wide Prayer Circle” – touch the tab to the right on this page.
